YWA 2010 SCARE-A-THON
Everyone knows that ghosts and ghouls, vampires and zombies, come out at night. But did you know that they sometimes come out at noon? They do, especially during the harvest season, when they are known as "the midday terrors." Come get your own fill of midday terror at Young Writers Association SCARE-A-THON.
Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
If you're under 7, come at 11:00 am
If you're 7-10, come at 12:00 pm
If you're fearless and full of frightening imagination, come at 1:00 pm

You can also email it out to friends and family. With the bookfair ID number, supporters can shop at any Barnes & Noble nationwide and on bn.com and it will count toward YWA's fundraising! Support YWA while stirring up some scary literary fun!
- Picture book author-illustrator Kurt Cyrus and children's author Judy Sierra will read from their most chilling works, including Cyrus' WHO'S WHOM IN THE TOMB and THE BONES OF FRED McFEE, and Sierra's MONSTER GOOSE, THE HOUSE THAT DRAC BUILT, and THE GRUESOME GUIDE TO WORLD MONSTERS.
- Storytellers will tell tales so scary they can't be told after sunset.
- Bob Kaminski will teach kids how to tell their own jump tales that make the audience jump in fright at the end.
- At 12:30 and 1:30 mystery actors from Eugene's theater scene will read the winning entries in the Scary Writing Contest (deadline September 25).
- Instant scary writing contests too, with prizes for all ages.
- Judy Sierra and Kurt Cyrus will be available to sign copies of their books.
