YEA! and YES! DAYS
YEA! and YES! Days are literature-based integrated units brought into the schools by a team of professional artists, or artists and scientist, for full school days of exploration. A storytelling assembly starts the day and informs the hands-on workshops that follow. "This innovative arts program empowers students to experience the artistic connection between themselves, words and the creative arts." Bob Kominski, author.
YEA! Young Escapades in the Arts is an integrated arts program designed for students, parents and teachers. Imagine going to school and getting to spend the whole day creating art!
An escapade starts with a story...the threads of the story inspire a hands on adventure in the arts. After the storyteller performs, the audience divides into groups, rotating through workshops in each of four to five disciplines: in dance/drama, in visual arts, in music, and in creative writing.
For each school, artists collaborate while planning their workshops. YEA! artists are professionals with years of experience sharing their art with youth and the community.
Young Escapades in the Arts is available on a one day basis or for an extended program. An extended program means at least three contact days with YEA! artists and the option of an evening event at the end of the experience.
YEA! students can expect to advance their arts skills and massage their imaginations while having a great time! Come explore the arts with us!
