Poetry Posts
The Poetry Posts are in all Lane County Schools.
They are posters of poems written by Lane County youth.
Lane ESD and Young Writers Association hopes schools will not only promiently post the poetry posters, written by school-aged Lane County poets, but will also have a student, teacher or principal read them over the intercom with their companion adult poem and five questions.
The professional writers who teach the after school workshops for Young Writers Association choose a student poem, and partner it with a published poem on a similar theme. They add five questions students and teachers may choose to ask the poems in order to get to know them a little better.
