Our lives are charged with story, memory, imagination -- Authors of all ages share their writing on Mixed Voices. Young Writers Association unites with KLCC to air five minutes of short prose and poetry on KLCC’s Northwest Passage, 89.7 FM, the last Monday of each month, 4:00 pm. We are seeking high quality submissions from authors of all ages.
Guidelines for Mixed Voices
Submit short prose or poetry that touches on a monthly topic. The topics are merely writing prompts and do not need to be the main idea in the writing. For example, if the topic is school, maybe the main idea is about an interaction with a teacher, a wild school lunch scene, or a moment when something surprising interrupted a drowsy school drone. It can be funny, serious or magical.
--> The writing should sound satisfying when read aloud and kept short, no longer than 90 seconds.
--> The deadline for each topic is the first of the month, and the date for recording is the second Saturday of each month, 10:00 a.m., at KLCC.
--> Be sure to include topic, name, occupation (or school & age), phone number, and address. Keep a copy for yourself; we won’t be able to return your work.
