Experiment with the art of writing in small groups

Workshops are three terms in eight-week sessions; the 8th week is the Community Reading and reception for all workshops

Students submit work to read on YWA's radio spot Mixed Voices on KLCC and to YWA's creative writing journal, UpStarts

Elementary School Writing Groups
Mess with Words Mondays for ages 7-9, YWA hosted by UO Youth Enrichment/TAG
Mondays, 4:00-5:30
Exercise your creativity in action packed word-play. Mess with storytelling, make out-loud poems, cut, and glue and dangle words. Tell, illustrate, act and imagine both solo and in teams. Workshops led by Kelly Terwilliger at the little Moss Street house on the UO campus, 1533 Moss Street, Eugene.

Write An Adventure Thursdays for ages 9-11, YWA hosted by UO Youth Enrichment/TAG
Thursdays, 4:00-5:30
Join forces with fellow writers to build a world of adventure for your characters to negotiate. Create trials! Craft tribulations! Give your creative brain a workout while discovering writers your own age! Try different writing ideas prompted by favorite books, drama games, art, or by odd and familiar objects. Write and illustrate. Play with language and surprise in your original stories and poems. Teen Writing Groups
Mentor with an author while discovering writers your age. Exercise creativity and stretch the imagination! Share bits from favorite books, test different writing tips, prepare for publishing, read on the radio and participate in an evening reading.

Tuition details:
Tuition is $80 per term; take $5 off if you register one month before term start date; take $20 off if you pay for all three terms (fall, winter, spring). Some partial scholarships available (download application form at bottom of page).
